On Friday when Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville announced a yard sale linky, I got busy and started cleaning out fabric from my overstuffed cupboards. Awhile back reality hit when I found a small box of fabric I’d bought for charity quilts. After spending a couple of months sewing, I made at least 10 quilts from that box and realized even if I sewed 24 hours a day it would take about 500 years to sew all my stash—and that’s only if I didn’t buy another inch!
This is the fabric I’ve sorted so far—over 100 yards--and it’s only about one shelf worth.
I have seven cupboards with four shelves each, plus four other large shelving units. And that’s just the cuts between 1/2 yard and 5 yards. Fabric less than 1/2 yard is stored in fat quarter bins (dozens of them!) and larger pieces are rolled onto bolt boards. I have a long way to go!
Most of these fabrics are leftovers from quilts I’ve made or quilts that never got made. They are all quilt shop quality and are for sale at bargain prices at my new Etsy shop, Quilting DeStash.
